Vorige week was het laatste presidentiële debat tussen Donald Trump en Hillary Clinton, en zoals gewoonlijk was het een goudmijn voor Saturday Night Live's sketches. Afgelopen zaterdag opende SNL met Alec Baldwin als Donald Trump, Kate McKinnon als Hillary Clinton en Tom Hanks als de moderater/voice of reason Chris Wallace.
Alles kwam terug in de sketch:
> Donald Trump die tijdens het debat 'nasty woman' mompelde over Clinton.
> De almaar terugkerende e-mailkwestie.
> Trumps absurde quote 'nobody has more respect for women than I do'.
> En, de briljantste from the bunch, Trumps onvermogen om te accepteren dat hij misschien-heel-waarschijnlijk gaat verliezen. Het gesprek dat er tijdens het debat werd gevoerd, hoefde niet eens zo erg te worden aangepast:
Tom Hanks als Chris Wallace:
'It has become very clear that you're probably going to lose.'
Alex Baldwin als Donald Trump:
'Correct.'
Hanks als Wallace:
'Now when you do will you accept the results of the election?'
Baldwin als Trump:
'I will look at it at the time because frankly, this whole thing is rigged. Even the media, every day I turn on the news and all of the newscasters are making me look so bad.'
Hanks als Wallace:
'And how are we doing that?'
Baldwin als Trump:
'By taking all of the things I say, and all of the things I do and putting them on TV.'
Daarna komt McKinnon als Clinton tussendoor met:
'Listen, America, Donald Trump cannot be president. He would be a disaster, a failure, a complete F. And America, you deserve better than an F. So on November 8th, vote for me, and I promise I will be a stone cold B.'
