De cast van Riverdale is opvallend open over wat we allemaal nog gaan beleven in de hitshow. Zo wordt er een tweede moord gepleegd - ja echt - en weten we héél snel wie Jason Blossom vermoord heeft. Maar, zo onthult Cole Sprouse aka Judhead nu, er is één vraag waar ze geen antwoord op willen geven.
Betty vs Veronica
In een interview met onze Amerikaanse collega's van ELLE, vertelt Cole dat ze constant de vraag krijgen of ze een 'Betty of Veronica' zijn. En dat moet maar eens ophouden. Hij vertelt:
'Well, the question we get all the time as a cast is, 'Are you a Betty or Veronica person?' I don't like that. I think it's hard and it also puts the cast members against one another in a strange and competitive way that makes me a little uncomfortable. So most of our cast don't even answer it.'
Groot gelijk.
Waar hij wel antwoord op wil geven? Wie hij shipped in de show. Terwijl iedereen helemaal team Betty-Jughead (aka Bughead) is, gaat Cole opvallend genoeg voor Betty en Archie:
'I actually really ship Betty and Archie. When I would read the Archie comics when I was younger I was rooting for Betty and Archie way over any alternative. I think I would have seen that long-lived, childlike romance from two people knowing each other since youth as probably quite romantic. I am a sucker for that childhood romance narrative. I know our fans take very specific camps with who they ship and who they want and all those camps are at huge war with one another. Riverdale is about to ignite into flames considering how the camps are at war with each other. I try not to involve myself too much.'
Intussen schijnen Cole Sprouse en zijn tegenspeler Lili Reinhart (Betty) in het echt een relatie te hebben en krijgen de fans dus toch hun zin:
