Helaas pindakaas. Net als Sex and the City wordt seizoen 6 het laatste seizoen van Girls. Het einde van een generatie. Nou ja, een soort van dan.
E! News laat weten dat de HBO-hitshow - waarvan het vijfde seizoen in februari 2016 start - er een einde aan gaat breien. Dat komt trouwens niet geheel uit de lucht vallen, want Lena Dunham zei onlangs al in een Amerikaanse radioshow dat ze eraan dacht om te stoppen:
'Never say never, but that is the way we're thinking about it right now and we're starting to think about sort of how to wrap up the storylines of these particular young wome. It's really exciting. I started working on this show when I was 23, and I'm going to be 30 so it kind of feels right that this show kind of sandwiched my 20s and then I go off into the world.'
Daarnaast zei Dunham tegen The Hollywood Reporter:
'We're not in the business of running it into the ground. We would like to end in a graceful place. And we'd like to tell a complete story. What that means is that we really have to start building towards an end soon, creatively.'
Even slikken dus, maar we hebben gelukkig nog twee volle seizoen te gaan.
