Het is wat. Blake Lively postte twee dagen geleden een foto van haar bum online met de tekst 'L.A. face with an Oakland booty' en internet werd WILD. En niet om de goede reden:
De zin kwam uiteraard uit het befaamde nummer Baby Got Back van Sir Mix-a-Lot, en juist hij neemt het nu voor Blake op. De inmiddels 52-jarige rapper laat aan New York Daily News weten:
'I don’t think she’d wear that dress if she thought that booty is horrible — and to me, it ain’t horrible. I don’t get it at all. She’s saying she’s proud of her butt. I’m glad she embraced the look, because that’s what I wanted with the song.'
Hij vindt dan ook dat iedereen op moet houden met al die kritiek:
'All I would say to the critics is let’s better understand the context of what she said. If what she’s saying is, ‘I have this butt that Mix-a-Lot was talking about in ‘Baby Got Back,’’ that’s a good thing. She’s saying I’ve embraced this ideal of beautiful. However, if what she’s saying is, ‘I cannot believe I got this fat, this is horrible,’ then I agree with the critics.'
Blake Lively zelf heeft (nog) niet reageerd op alle ophef, en Sir Mix-a-Lot hoopt dan ook dat ze de foto gewoon lekker op haar instagrampagina laat staan:
'I’m glad she didn’t pull it down. I don’t think she should.'
Intussen heeft de actrice dan ook nog steeds de tijd van haar leven in Cannes...
