Brad Pitt heeft voor de tweede keer een officieel statement naar buiten gebracht over zijn scheiding. De acteur zou vanavond de première bijwonen van de documentaire Voyage of Time, waarvoor hij de voice-overs insprak, maar laat nu weten dat-ie door zijn 'huidige familiesituatie' er helaas niet bij kan zijn.
Brad Pitt laat weten:
'Terrence's 'Voyage of Time' is an incredibly beautiful and unique experiential IMAX film for children and families chronicling the birth of time. I'm very grateful to be part of such a fascinating and educational project, but I'm currently focused on my family situation and don't want to distract attention away from this extraordinary film, which I encourage everyone to see.'
Brad Pitt en Angelina Jolie hebben volgens het laatste nieuws een 'waterdicht huwelijkscontract'. Het gesteggel tussen de twee gaat dan ook niet over geld, maar over de voogdij van hun zes kinderen. Angelina wil de volledige fysieke voogdij krijgen, maar daar steekt Brad een stokje voor en pleit met zijn advocaat voor gedeelde voogdij.
Intussen heeft ook Justin Theroux – de man van Brads veelbesproken ex Jennifer Aniston – zich uitgesproken over Brangelina's scheiding. De acteur vind het, net als wij, eigenlijk niet kunnen dat zijn vrouw betrokken wordt in het verhaal.
Toen het nieuws brak dat Angelina Jolie en Brad Pitt gingen scheiden, ging het los op social media met Jen An-memes, die in haar vuistje zou lachen. Natuurlijk gniffelde iedereen daarbij, maar Justin Theroux – die zijn nieuwe film The Girl on the Train promoot – laat nu aan Business Insider weten ze graag zouden willen dat Jennifer buiten de discussie wordt gelaten:
'There's an endless appetite for trash, apparently, though everyone would say that they don't have that appetite. But I think a lot of people do because people buy it. But there are bigger things to bitch about. It's shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world.'
Justin Theroux zegt verder over de Brangelina-scheiding, dat-ie te doen heeft met de kinderen van het stel:
'As a child of divorce, all I can say is that's terrible news for those children, and that's all you can really say. It's boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time, that's horrible.'
Ook Jennifer Anistons beste vriendin Courteney Cox neemt het nu voor de actrice op. Ze laat aan Entertainment Tonight weten over Brad en Angelina's scheiding:
'It's not about Jennifer. I feel like we're exacerbating it by even talking about it.'
