Nog voor de scheiding van Brangelina was daar die andere celebrity break-up die we niet zagen aankomen: Lady Gaga en Taylor Kinney.
De twee stonden altijd innig knuffelend en liefdevol kussend op foto's, hadden het in interviews over hun aanstaande huwelijk en zwijmelden er met foto's via Instagram op los. Maar in juli kwam plotsdeze post:
Lady Gaga liet weten:
'Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other.'
Daarna hield Lady Gaga haar lippen stijf op elkaar over de opmerkelijke breuk. Tot nu. Tijdens een openhartig interview met CBS Sunday Morning vertelt ze waarom ze besloten uit elkaar te gaan:
'I think women love very hard. We love men. We just love with everything we have. And sometimes I don't know that that love is met with the type of dignity that we wish it would be met with. You know, we're not trying to make you less of a man. We just want you to love us as deeply and as wholesomely and as fully as we love you.'
Daarna vertelt Lady Gaga dat ze het ook enorm lastig vindt om een relatie te hebben, als je zo bekend bent:
'I'm very acutely aware that once I cross that property line I'm not free anymore. As soon as I go out in the world I belong in a way to everyone else. It's legal to follow me. It's legal to stalk me at the beach. I can't call the police or ask them to leave and I took a long hard look at that property line and I said 'Well you know if I can't be free out there I'm going to be free in here.''
Toen kreeg de zangeres het even te kwaad:
'I miss people. I'm sorry,' zei ze, terwijl ze wat tranen wegveegde. 'I miss people. Yeah, I miss people. I miss going anywhere and meeting a random person and saying hi and having a conversation about life. I love people.'
