Hoe dan ook, 2015 was het jaar dat Halsey terrein won in de muziekindustrie (zoals een duet met Justin Bieber - The Feeling), en afgelopen week ging de ster-in-wording dan ook langs bij het Australische radiostation Triple J om Justin Biebers Love Yourself te coveren.
Moet je zien, alleen al omdat ze het refrein verandert in f*ck yourself en daarmee eigenlijk precies zingt wat we éigenlijk allemaal willen zingen als we Love Yourself weer 'ns meeblèren:
Ze legt ook uit hoe het was om voor The Feeling met Justin Bieber samen te werken:
'We performed the song together actually for the first time ever on the Today show. You know, I was on stage, like in super baggy jeans, and I had like my short hair cut and like whatever else, and I'm singing on stage, and I'm thinking to myself, 'How cool is it that there are girls sitting at home watching the biggest male pop star in the world on stage with a girl who's not necessarily traditionally like feminine or traditionally beautiful or traditionally like whatever, you know what I mean?' And that was really, really cool for me because if I was that like short-haired, punk chick sitting at home who secretly loved Justin Bieber, I'd be like, 'YES, you go! You get that! You get that!' But I did not get that! I'm just saying.'
