Dit keer geen vrees dat Kanye West boos het podium van de MTV VMA's opstapt, omdat Beyoncé niet genoeg credits krijgt...

... de zangeres heeft namelijk nu al de MTV VMA's gewonnen, want hengelde maarliefst 11(!) nominaties binnen voor de grote muziekshow. Op 28 augustus vindt de show pas plaats, maar Queen B staat zó erg bovenaan, dat dit geheid haar avond gaat worden. Yoncé is in alle grote categoriën vertegenwoordigd - Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, Best Female Music Video, Best Collaboration - en daar komen nog flink wat nominaties naast, zoals die voor Best Choreography én de nieuwe categorie van dit jaar, Breakthrough Long Form Video (voor Lemonade, uiteraard). Kortom: iedereen kan z'n tassen inpakken, want Bey heeft deze in de pocket.
KANYE HEEFT DE LAATSTE LACH
Geheid dat Kim en Kanye in hun vuistjes lachen, want Taylor Swift is de grootste snub van de VMA's dit jaar. De zangeres bracht het afgelopen jaar drie muziekvideo's uit voor nummers van haar 1989-album - Wildest Dreams, Out of the Woods en New Romantics - maar geen enkele kreeg een nominatie. Zelfs niet Wildest Dreams, die vorig jaar nog tijdens de VMA's voor het eerst geshowd werd. Ouch.
Kanye West is daarentegen één van de grootste kanshebbers met 5 nominaties, en komt daarmee achter Beyoncé (11) en Adele (8) te staan, samen met Ariana Grande, die er ook 5 wist binnen te hengelen. Andere veelgenomineerden zijn Drake en Rihanna (beide 4). Kanye's protégé en upcoming rapper Desiigner kreeg zijn allereerste VMA-nominatie voor zijn megahit Panda('Panda Panda Panda Panda!').
De genomineerden voor dé prijs van de avond, Video of the Year, zijn Adele (voor Hello) Beyoncé (voor Formation) Drake (voor Hotline Bling), Justin Bieber (voor Sorry) en, jawel, Kanye West en zijn veelbesproken Famous-video. Wij gokken zo dat T-Swift er op 28 augustus niét bij zal zijn.
