Zwangerschap doet veel met een vrouwenlichaam. Van enorme platvoeten tot neuzen die opeens drie maten groter worden. In het geval van Beyoncé, in verwachting van een tweeling, heeft de zwangerschap momenteel effect op haar lippen die flink zijn opgezwollen.
Bizar inderdaad. Maar geloof me, ik heb zwangere vrouwen gezien bij wie niet alleen de lippen maar het hele gezicht was opgezwollen. Beyoncé heeft dus mazzel. Wat dat betreft. Want omdat Beyoncé Beyoncé is, gooit er iedere dag wel weer een nieuwe entertainmentsite of twitteraar een bak onzin over haar online.
Waar de zwangere zangeres vorige week nog werd gefatshamed (ja, echt waar...) en door TMZ een week eerder nog werd beschuldigd dat ze haar buik verborgen houdt, wordt ze deze week beschuldigd van lipinjecties. 'SOMETHING WEIRD Is Going On With Beyonce's Face', schreef Media Takeout donderdag, met voor- en na-foto's. Volgens hen het bewijs dat Beyoncé een 'Kylie Jenner' had gedaan.
Omdat je als beroemdheid ook maar zoveel kunt incasseren (er zijn nog steeds iedere dag mensen die beweren dat Bey haar eerste zwangerschap fakete...), liet Beyoncé vrijdag haar woordvoerder Yvette Noel-Schure los op de geruchten. En haar reactie van 300 woorden is fantastisch.
Noel-Schure noemt de redactie van Media Takeout niet alleen 'de meest trieste mensen ooit', maar ze bekritiseert met terugwerkende kracht ook iedereen die tijdens Beyoncé's vorige zwangerschap openlijk twijfelde aan de echtheid ervan. Lees en geniet:
What do you know about the effects of pregnancy on a woman's entire body? Please tell me. Did you know that in addition to weight gain there is often a dramatic change in the blood flow in the system and increased fluid causing swelling? Do you know that often women's gums get swollen? Het is opvallend dat Beyoncé, die geruchten meestal niet eens erkent (zie de hele 'nep-zwangerschap'), nu haar woordvoerder liet reageren. Dat kan volgens Kathleen van website Lainey Gossip best weleens te maken hebben met het feit dat de lippen van een Afrikaans-Amerikaanse vrouw sowieso een beladen onderwerp zijn:
For years, white actresses like Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts were praised for their full lips while black girls dealt with ridicule directed at these same features. Look at how Nina Simone's features were maligned and mocked. I bring up this example often but remember when the New York Times wrote that Viola Davis's features were not "classically beautiful?" Then, Kylie Jenner pumped up her lips and created a f-cking empire based on the fact that she manufactured lips that so many girls have been told to be ashamed of. So, I can understand why the idea that a black woman's lips couldn't possibly be real would get to Beyoncé.
Daarnaast is het uiteraard ook zo dat een vrouw die niet een maar TWEE kinderen in haar baarmoeder aan het groeien is, wellicht geen zin heeft in lullige websites die haar lichaam bekritiseren.
