Het zit er weer op, de prijzen zijn uitgereikt. Grote winnaar van de Golden Globes is film Boyhood die er met beste drama, beste regisseur en beste vrouwelijke bijrol (Patricia Arquette) vandoor ging. Andere grote prijzen waren er voor Julianne Moore (beste vrouwelijke hoofdrol, drama), Eddie Redmayne (beste mannelijke hoofdrol, drama), Michael Keaton (beste mannelijke hoofdrol, komedie) en Amy Adams (beste vrouwelijke hoofdrol, komedie).
Bij de tv-prijzen vielen opvallend veel nieuwe series in de prijzen. De grensverleggende show Transparant won beste komedieserie en ook hoofdrolspeler Jeffrey Tambor werd beloond voor zijn acteerwerk. Dramaserie The Affair won de prijs voor beste drama en actrice Ruth Wilson voor beste hoofdrolspeelster. In de categorie komedie ging nieuwkomer Gina Rodriguez van Jane the Virgin er met de prijs vandoor. Kevin Spacey mocht een Globe ontvangen voor zijn vertolking van Francis Underwood in House of Cards.
