Het is niet voor niets dat de Kardashians een kindercollectie op Prins George inspireren - het is een van de leukste royal kleuters, en George verkoopt heel waarschijnlijk als geen ander.
Wat in ieder geval goed verkoopt, zijn paparazzifoto's van George - en daar steken Prins William en Kate Middleton nu een stokje voor. In een open brief roepen ze paparazzi op te stoppen met het volgen van George, en de media vragen ze alleen geautoriseerde foto's van George te publiceren.
In de brief noemt het koppel een recent voorbeeld van een paparazzifotograaf die zich, naast een speelveldje van George, in zijn gehuurde auto ophield, waarna hij met een telescooplens vanuit de kofferbak stiekem aan het fotograferen sloeg.
'It is of course upsetting that such tactics… are being deployed to profit from the image of a two-year-old boy. This has left the Duke and Duchess concerned about their ability to provide a childhood for Prince George and Princess Charlotte that is free from harassment and surveillance.(...) The Duke and Duchess are of course very fortunate to have private homes where photographers cannot capture images of their children. But they feel strongly that both Prince George and Princess Charlotte should not grow up exclusively behind palace gates and in walled gardens.'

Tot slot prijzen ze de vele media die tot nu toe nooit gebruikt hebben gemaakt van de foto's, en roepen ze op tot publiceren van de open brief.
'The vast majority of publications around the world - and all British publications - have refused to fuel the market for such photos. This is an important and laudable stance for which The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are hugely grateful. (...) The text from this letter, which has been sent to a number of people in leadership positions, will be placed in the public domain to raise awareness of the issues discussed.'
