And now those same people message me on Facebook. They're like, "Wow, let's meet up!".'

'There's not a lot of us. Hopefully now that I've started working and doing really well, there will be more Indian models. But I just do as much as I can to raise awareness about diversity in the industry. And that's why I'm so proud to get any job. It's more of an achievement for me, I think, being the first Indian model to work for so many big brands.'

'The most exciting thing I've done so far this season is Kanye West's Adidas show, because at the after-party, oh my god, it was like, Kanye, Big Sean, Drake! Everyone performed! I almost died. I was that excited. And I love trainers as well. I buy them whenever I'm in LA - I buy so many that my luggage is always overweight on the way back. So when I saw the Kanye for Adidas collection during fittings, I was literally asking, "Please can I have these?".'
> Het gerucht gaat dat Neelam en voormalig One Direction-lid Zayn Malik aan het daten zijn. De twee willen er (nog) niets over zeggen, maar Neelam is twee dagen geleden wel naar Los Angeles overgekomen om bij 'm te zijn terwijl-ie zijn album opneemt. Volgens een insider is het model echter huiverig om een serieuze relatie met Zayn te beginnen. Aan de Daily Mail:
'Neelam doesn't know if she wants all of the drama that comes with dating someone in the public eye. She is going to LA to spend some time with Zayn and see how things go from there. She is serious about her career and doesn't want anything to get in the way of that but she has hit it off with Zayn. Don't expect them to be spotted out in public together though, both are eager to keep their connection a secret for now.'
