Toen de Amerikaanse Courtney Solstad een zoontje adopteerde, Nathan, hield ze dat nog even geheim voor haar andere kinderen. Om ze te verrassen, liet ze ze niets vermoedend de woonkamer in lopen, om hun nieuwe broertje daar als 'kerstcadeautje' te vinden. Solstad op Facebook:
'The girls knew nothing about Nathan until this. We met them at the door and told them that we had been out Christmas shopping and got them a gift to share...and it was under the tree!'
