Het mysterieuze fenomeen omvat eigenlijk niets meer dan je hoofd in verschillende soorten brood rollen, waar je dan een filmpje van maakt, en de eerste breadroller was dus Bread Face Blog.

In een interview met ELLE USA vertelt ze:

'I think we often overlook the tactile pleasure of food. If something tastes good, that's great, but taste and texture—that's amazing. Surprisingly, the tasteless breads have a better aroma once you get in there. The kaiser rolls and hoagie rolls, for example, smell great but that buttery German pretzel was super toasty.'

Een kleine Q&A met de aanstichtster van het breadfacen.

Wanneer wilde je voor het eerst je hoofd in een brood rollen?'I picked up a slice of grean tea roll cake in my hand and felt the spongy, moist cake... I just really wanted to touch it to my face so I did. It's a personal favorite of mine. Everything about it is irresistible - the presentation, the little swirl of light, buttery cream, the sponge cake itself is so fluffy without being too sweet, and the face feel (of course).'

Hoe kies je je look, je nagels, de muziek? Ze zijn allemaal on point.
'Wow thank you—I am so flattered! I actually don't put too much thought into what I'm wearing. It's usually something I already have on or if you notice it's dressier—it's something I'll be going out in. For music, it's just songs I grew up listening or I'm currently listening to. On occasion, a friend will turn me onto a song as well.'

Welke broodsoorten wil je nog proberen?
'Short term: I take requests. I'm open to sponsored posts but if you want to feed me in exchange, that's cool too. I am trying to hold off on pastries as long as I can. 

Long term: I think I'll keep breadfacing until it starts to feel like a chore. I know it's hard nowadays to just relax and put anything out there at a natural pace once some eyes start getting on it, so I'm very mindful of how happy I am. I'll just try not to beat myself up in order to stay relevant or make money off of it...because at the end of the day, I'm putting my face in bread. It's just fun and I'm glad people like it.'

Volg je een specifiek dieet?
'Nope! My mom has instilled in me an obsession with all things food and talking about food so I don't limit myself. I will try anything at least once even if I know it'll irritate my skin or stomach because I love food that much.'

Wat zijn je schoonheidsrituelen (behalve broodrollen)?
'For day: Splash water, spritz toner, two serums, then moisturizer with SPF.

For night: Cleanse with oil, spritz toner, two serums, then I warm two drops of essential oil on my hand and press it on my face.

For post Breadfacing: Cleanse with a mild hydrating milk wash, spritz toner, followed by 20 minutes of hydrating mask.

BUT I feel I have to point this out—it has really taken a toll on my sensitive skin. I'm sure it looks fine on an iPhone screen but my skin is irritated. I am still a vain person so, of course, I will cover up any discoloration and blemishes for you all before I smoosh.'
