Ryan Reynolds vertelde al eerder het sprookje over de nacht dat hij voor Blake Lively viel. Maar nu horen we ook Blake's kant van het verhaal. En die zit toch ietsje anders in elkaar.
Ryan vertelde destijds tijdens SiriusXM's Entertainment Weekly over het moment dat hij voor Blake viel:
'It was funny because for about a year after Green Lantern had come and gone, all that stuff, we were both single. We went on a double date. She was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl. That was the most awkward date for that respective party because we were just like fireworks.'
Nu vertelt Blake aan Entertainment Weekly hoe zij die avond heeft beleefd en dat bevat een stuk minder vuurwerk:
'Went well for him, there were no fireworks for me. No. We were such good friends for so long and we both got to know each other as friends. It didn't click for a good year and a half.'
Pas na een lange tijd besefte Blake dat er meer kon ontstaan tussen de twee en gingen ze daten:
'I'm like, 'Oh hey, wait. Hold on. We could date. That's what I appreciate about our relationship is that he's my friend first and foremost. Still, not just for our history but in everyday life he is my friend first, and I think that's the secret to happiness. I don't know the secret to happiness, it's the secret to my happiness at least.'
