Vannacht trad Cher, #icon, op met haar ICONISCHE nummer Believe tijdens de Billboard Music Awards. Gehuld in een string en met roze tepelplakkers op:

Purple, Trunk, Abdomen, Necklace, Chest, Makeover, Dance, Musical theatre, Festival, Humour, pinterest
Fun, Gesture, pinterest

Ze deed ook nog even haar hit Turn Back Time in een bodysuit:

Performance, Entertainment, Music artist, Performing arts, Singer, Music, Stage, Pop music, Event, Singing, pinterest

Een bodysuit die HEEL erg leek op een soortgelijke outfit die ze 25 jaar geleden droeg. Want ja, ze is 71. Een-en-ze-ven-tig!!!:

Performing in London in 1992.

Even later kreeg Cher de Icon Award uitgereikt en gaf ze een speech zoals alleen Cher dat kan:

Thank you. So, I've wanted to do what I do since I was 4 years old. And I've been doing it for 53 years. Yeah. This is not an applause thing. I'm 71 yesterday. So ...Yes. And I can do a five-minute plank, okay? Just saying.

I want to thank my mom, because when I was really young, she said you're not going to be the smartest, prettiest, the most talented, but you're going to be special. And then when I met Sonny, he said the same thing. And there was nothing about me that led anyone to believe I was going to be special. So, I've had so much help, I've had the greatest people to work with.

I had an experience with Phil Spector, worked for one year for $25 that taught me so much. I worked with the wrecking crew, people you may not know, but they're the greatest people in our industry.

And I think luck has so much to do with my success. I think it was mostly luck, and a little bit of something thrown in. That's it, and I want to thank Diane Warren, Rob, David Geffen, and a million other people. So, thank you.

#fiveminuteplank.
