Fergie en Josh Duhamel gaan na acht jaar huwelijk scheiden, zo laten ze in een gezamenlijk statement weten:
'With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year. To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.'
Fergie en Josh zijn dus al een tijdje uit elkaar, maar wisten hun breuk goed onder de pet te houden. Afgelopen januari vierde Fergie — die Josh leerde kennen op de set van zijn toenmalige tv-show Las Vegas in 2004 — op Instagram nog hun achtjarige huwelijksjubileum met een zoete foto:
Josh deed toen hetzelfde en deelde een gezellige kiekje van zijn vrouw en hun zoon, Axl (4):
Een bron laat aan People weten dat de twee op goede voet uit elkaar zijn gegaan, maar dat 'hun verschillen te groot werden':
'People close to them won't be surprised that this ended. A big factor is how different Fergie and Josh are. In the beginning, it was what attracted them to each other and made them so fun to be around. Fergie is "fun and outgoing," while Josh is "charming and relaxed", but they come from totally different backgrounds and they wanted different things. In the end, their lives were heading in two separate directions and [they] are often apart because of work.'
Wel gaan ze nog samen zorgen voor hun zoontje:
'While the split has been a long time coming, they still are both obsessed with [their 4-year-old son] Axl and love being parents. Josh is low-key and laid back. Fergie is more high maintenance and very focused on her career. He definitely wants more kids and has always wanted to be a family man.'
