Swift noemt geen namen, maar het is overduidelijk dat de 'you' staat voor de vier mensen die afgelopen jaar haar reputatie in het geding brachten: Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry en haar ex Calvin Harris, met een behoorlijke nadruk op Kanye.
Zo zingt ze: 'I'm sorry, the old Taylor can't come to the phone right now',wat overduidelijk een verwijzing lijkt naar dat ene veelbesproken telefoongesprek tussen Kanye West en Taylor.
Én ze zingt over een 'tilted stage', wat natuurlijk totaal een hint is naar Kanye's karakteristieke podium van zijn afgelopen tour:
